I saw the movie "Star Crash" here in the
Spring of 1979.

In front of the screen, as the sun set, we played on the swings, the monkey bars, the slides.. then we saw a cartoon, the feature film, and were supposed to be asleep by the time Barbarella came on.

I remember this from the mid 60's the rides in front of the the screen, the round thing you would spin on and hold on to the bars. we were in our pj's and would come back to the car filthy. My mother would always get mad at that. The last movie I seen there was Smokey and the Bandit in 1977.

I remember whenever we were passing by, my gramp would always pull off on the side of Rt 11, and we would catch 10-15 minutes of the latest flick. I seem to recall you could pick up the sound on the radio.

As an 8 year old, I remember my first drive in movie at the Salina Drive In in 1960. It was The Bell Boy staring Jerry Lewis. Only remember that it was adjacent to a small airfield and on the end of Nedrow heading out of town, near Interstate 81.
